Captain's Log, Stardate 2009/0115.3
We have just recieved a distress signal from the planet Vectis, a near class-M planet in the Talos system whose teraforming is scheduled to finish later this year. They have detected an unidentified object moving towards them at Warp Factor 1.6. We have moved to intercept and will arrive at the planet in less than 2 hours. I have ordered the weapons and scientific facilities to be ready the moment we near the system.
Captain's Log, Stardate 2009/0115.5
We have successfully defended the planet from the two Space Amoebas that threatened the planet. To begin the long story, we dropped out of high warp and immediately began loading weapons and powering the probe launcher. It took approximately 3 minutes to gather all of the required information using all available means. We were in for a rude shock. It turns out that our sensors experienced a feedback loop that damaged our shields, probably caused by the monster. It was quite possibly a defensive measure. During this time I had discovered that the station was occupied by a member of a rival House. I left a squad to defend the teraforming station and set out to do battle. It figures that as soon as we discovered how to destroy the monster (by using the tractor beam to match the resonance frequency of the monster), I recieved word that the squad had come under attack! Apparently several auto defense turrents were installed and they were suddenly activated (by that rival scientist, I am certain of it). I ordered the ship to land and the rest of my marines led my crew in an effort to retake the station while the information shuttles were being repaired. After capturing the station we discovered that not only the station rigged to blow up, but someone (*coughrivalHousecough*) has set up a sub-space beacon that was luring more Amoebas to the planet. By the time we were able to locate and disable the device, sensors had picked up another Space Amoeba heading towards us.
Into the breach once more, then. We took off from the planet while the bomb diffusal robot went to work on the bomb. I really don't need to go into too much detail on this part, suffice it to say that I was able to spread the feedback damage across all of our shields untill we discoved that by programming the probe as a warhead we could detonate it so the ensuing radiation burst would be at the proper frequency to burst its membrane. The robot on the planet, meanwhile, failed in its task to defuse the bomb. Cheap piece of crap. The ensuing detonation has heavily damaged the station, and it seems that the teraforming process will be delayed for a while. At the least, I suppose that the crew has gained some valuable experience. One possiblity I intend to submit to Command is to use monster attracting sub-space beacons to aid in training crews. The monsters would have their populations culled and crews could benifit from the controlled battle senarios that would result.
Final Report
No lasting damage to ship hull
Station inoperable for time being
2 kills
16 casulties-Marine squads II,III, and V
I wonder how I could paint an amoeba on the ship's hull?

<Agent's remarks: For some reason it took us longer to decode this log, even though it is earlier than the last entry>
Captain's Log, Stardate 2008/1127.8
We have succefully made peaceful contact with an entity that describes itself as a Cosmic Cloud. It all started a day ago, when we recieved word from Command that an unknown energy signature was detected in a nearby system, and that we were to investigate. After stocking up on extra marines and probes, we set off. The energy signature was moving towards the inhabitied planet of the system, which was orbited by a research station. To clarify, the planet was not inhabited by Romulans, but by a pre-warp society. Why we did not simply conquer this planet, I'll never know. As we neared the cloud-like entity, members of the crew began falling ill and soon lapsed into comas. It soon became a race between gathering information on the creature and losing my crew. As we retreated to the research station the monster pursued us. I contacted the station and enlisted their help in defeating this menance.
I was informed that the station had a tribble problem, and realized that they could be useful fodder to protect the station's inhabitants. The battle was long, but eventually the chief science officer on the station was able to establish comunications with the creature using a series of electromagnetic pulses to send a message. After we established a link with the Cosmic Cloud, I was able to persuade it to cease its actions around Romulan inhabited worlds. It seems I have made an ally. Also, the station science officer was of immense value in assisting us on our mission. Talking with her later, I learned that she was assigned there because of some political ploy by a rival House. It seems that the bickering never ends, and I am in the process of having her assigned to my ship. Her skills will be most useful in our journey.
Final Report
No lasting damage to ship hull
86 Crew members sent on medical leave to recover from mental trama.
1 instance of (mostly) peaceful contact with alien lifefroms.

Captain's Log, Stardate 2008/1219.4
The less said about this mission the better. My orders were to disrupt a convoy of freighters near the border and capture as many as I could. It was only two small and one large frieghter, but thebutre was no escort. I immediately suspected a Q-ship (after all, Fate hates us), and launched a Pseudo-Plasma Torpedo, Type R. I know that using my only pseudo was a gamble, but I wanted to scatter the convoy to concentrate on one ship at a time. As the large freighter moved towards us while the smaller ships fled, I knew which ship was the Q-ship. This caught me by suprise, as I had expected one of the smaller ships to be fakes, but a large Q-ship is almost a match for my own ship.
Exchanging fire, it would appear that I had underestimated the power of the Type R. I expected the Q-ship to be completely gutted by the plasma inferno, but it was only moderately damaged. My own ship was struck by several phasers and a photon torpedo or two. After, the smaller ships were able to disengage using sublight evasion while larger ship accelerated away. While I did disrupt the convoy, I failed to capture any ships and so headed back to base to repair and plan my next move.
The captain of the Q-ship has been burned into my memory, and I will see to it that he is repaid for his transgressions one day. Burn, you Tellarite pig, burn.
Final Report
Ship moderately damaged, fully repairable in time for next mission
1 small freighter lightly damaged, 1 large Q-ship nearly crippled
29 crew injured or killed
I'm going to go nurse my pride, and eat some bacon.
