<I apologize for such a long post in advance.>
After being "escorted" the bar, Kiz and Jones are walking towards the inn. Kiz insisted on giving the serving maid about 12GP to help pay for the damage he caused. Kiz and Jones begin to chat while walking.
Kiz: "So out of curiosity, what exactly do you know about the Bishop?"
Jones: "Well my Death Cleric friend he is your grade A racist. He hates any nonhumans or at least sees them as inferior. He has been behind some laws that help his pro human agenda though most people don't know it."
Kiz: "I see. Fascinating. The Church of Cuthbert (knowledge religion check, total 22) does not normally operate in such a fashion. They try to judge objectivly."
Jones: "Well, they are a lawful church and the law is made by men. Men are flawed."
Kiz: "True."
Jones: "So if they make the law what they want they don't have to be lawful. But I don't care myself, he will get payed his dues. We just delayed that for a time."
Kiz: "I see. I should report this to my superiors. Perhaps they can convince someone higher up in Cuthbert's hiearchy to change this."
Jones: "Well you could if you wanted but it is probably a conspiricy that out grows our bishop by far."
Jones: "I just want the man to give me an advance. I mean us. Give us an advance."
Kiz: "So no serving a higher cause, hm?" Kiz smirks at Jones.
Jones: "I serve the god of travel and he lets me roam free. I don't like getting involved in politics."
Kiz: "As do I. Politics is messy, and quite corrupting. I would very much like to have a balanced soul to weigh."
Indi (the ferret) hops onto Kiz's shoulder, dodging the spikes, and begins sniffing at Kiz.
Kiz: "Nice animal. What is it?"
Jones: "Indiana leave the man alone! Maybe if you gave him a treat of some sort."
Kiz: "Such as?"
Jones: "A nibble of what ever. If you have meat that will do."
Kiz: "I suppose I do somewhere." Kiz reaches into his backpack, pulls his arm inside deeper than the pack's outside length, and pulls out a piece of jerky. "Here."
Indi takes the treat and scarfs it down. He then climbs down Kiz's leg onto the ground.
Jones: "He's a big fat moocher."
Kiz: "Quite entertaining. Ah, that reminds me. How did you know I was a cleric related to death?"
Jones: "Well, I know anubis is a god of death from a distant land. You carry his symbol of the jackle on your mace."
Kiz: "Perceptive."
Jones: "Well I am an explorer of knowlage but I like discovering ancient knowledge the most."
Kiz: "I see. So what else do you know about my god?"
Jones: "Nothing."
Kiz: "Well, let me tell you. Anubis guides the souls of the dead to the underworld, where they are judged acording to their actions in life, helps in the judgement, and protects them on their journey. Anubis is also the protector of tombs and the resting places of the dead, and guards them against robbers."
Kiz: "He is also a keeper of knowledge, especially magic and knowledge related to death. Many clerics serve him as morticians."
Jones: "Well I might not be on his good side. I have visited tombs many times but only take a taste of the artwork and things so that the rest of the world can see them. I have had to sell many of them to make the bills but I am not proud of that. My dream is to create a place where I can display great treasure for all members of class to see and learn for free. So that those who have died are never forgotten and so that we may better ourselves from the knowledge"
Kiz: "...."
Kiz pauses, frowning: "You should leave with memories, not artifacts."
Jones: "I can't share a memory of a piece of art that such the world has never seen. Words can't describe some of the wonders I have learned of and seen."
Kiz: "So you should make replicas then, and not take the originals."
Jones: "From techniques lost from knoledge for over a thousand years?"
Kiz: "They don't need to be exact, merely look like the artifacts. If people can see what they look like, and if they can be told how it functioned, they could understand and learn."
Jones: "Hmm, well I don't only raid tombs however. Ruins work well too. But I just want you to know I have nothing but respect for those tombs I that I have raided."
Kiz: "Fine. You can explain your actions to Anubis when the time comes."
Jones: "We shall see."
Kiz: "Although hopefully that won't happen for a while. I would very much like to complete this mission without any casulties. At least on our side."
Kiz: "Is this the inn the maid directed us to over here?"
Jones: "I think so."
Kiz: "Very well then. We should talk to Zen about the assasin, then go to sleep for the night.
Jones: Well after I talk to anthony about an advance. I could bring Irene."
Kiz: "Ok then. Please be sure to tell her about the Bishop's... viewpoints. Perhaps she can investigate further."
Jones: "I have a feeling she already knows." As he says this, Jones winks.
Kiz: "Wait, what?"
Jones: "What, you don't know what she is?"
Kiz: "I know she is capable of casting spells, like me and Hana, and possibly Zen from what I've seen him do."
Jones: "She doesn't use magic bub, but maybe I should not spread around any more info she might want to keep it private."
Kiz: "Fair enough, as long as it is no danger to the party I'm fine with it."
Jones: "It shouldn't be. Just be careful of what you think about when she is around."
Kiz: "OK then, nite."
Kiz enters the inn and rents a room for the night. He lies down on the bed and relaxes, lightly praying.
beware the white raven... What does that mean?
A few minutes later, his eyes open, and as Kiz's head turns he notices a spider in the corner of the room. Walking over to it, he crushes it with his mace. "Send THAT message to your master, vermin!"
